XAUAT News Network: On November 18, XAUAT held the closing ceremony for the 2022 “Chinese Bridge” group online exchange program titled “Impression of China: A Virtual Tour of Chinese Architectural Culture,” which was hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE) and undertaken by XAUAT. More than 80 students (from member institutions of “Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities”) who are from countries like Russia, Egypt, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Greece, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia were online to review this amazing tour of China’s traditional architecture.
At the closing ceremony, students from Russia, Egypt, and Pakistan shared their experiences and thoughts that, through this online program, they enjoyed the charm and cultural connotation of traditional Chinese architecture, which immensely intrigued their interest in learning Chinese. They all hoped to come to China and study at XAUAT to learn more Chinese and knowledge of Chinese architectural culture.
In her speech, Wang Chunmei, Vice Director of the Office of International Affairs, congratulated the participants on their successful program completion. She noted that the “Chinese Bridge” online program was an important part of the “International Month” of Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities (SRIAATU); students of the member institutions are welcome to join the upcoming academic lectures and seminars, as well as “XAUAT Discovery”. It’s hoped that everyone will have an opportunity to come to XAUAT to learn and experience the charm of the Chinese language and its architectural culture.
The “Chinese Bridge” online program lasted for 12 days; through streamlining videos and recorded lectures, participants of member institutions of SRIAATU expressed unanimous praise for the program, as it’s beneficial to deepen practical cooperation among member institutions of the “Alliance”, as well as offer a platform for students and faculties along the “Silk Road” countries to learn Chinese language and its architectural culture better.
