From May 9 to 16, 2026, the "2026 Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities "Building the Silk Road Together” Workshop concluded successfully. A delegation of 23 faculty members and students from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Malaysia visited our university for an eight‑day academic exchange program.

The delegation visited the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Environmental and Municipal Engineering, where they held seminars, academic lectures, and course presentations with core members of our research teams. Discussions focused on key disciplines including underground space engineering, structural engineering, materials engineering, environmental engineering, ocean engineering, and engineering management. The two institutions held in‑depth talks on joint platform development, disciplinary integration, talent cultivation, and research project collaboration, and reached multiple important cooperation agreements.

The University Arts Education Center arranged student art performances featuring classic cultural works such as Qinqiang Opera and Golden Age Chinese Music. Both sides also exchanged views on international cooperation in cultural and artistic exchanges. During the visit, the delegation toured our Structural and Seismic Laboratory, Digital Twin Virtual Simulation Platform, Chinese Traditional Tilework Museum, Yicheng Science and Technology Museum, University History Museum, and Library. Participants also experienced traditional Chinese rubbing and calligraphy.

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) is a founding member of the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities, which was initiated by our university. The successful workshop has further expanded the prospects for bilateral cooperation and set a fine example for educational exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative.
