Chen Rong, Vice President of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT), met with a delegation led by Andrey Ivanov, Vice-Rector of Kazakhstan’s ALT University for Corporate and Social Development, at XAUAT’s Yanta Campus on the morning of October 23. Heads of XAUAT’s Office of International Affairs and School of International Education attended the meeting, which was chaired by Wang Chunmei, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Dean of the School of International Education.

Extending a warm welcome to Ivanov and his delegation, Chen Rong briefed them on XAUAT’s history, academic characteristics and international exchanges, and reviewed the achievements in XAUAT’s cooperation with Central Asian universities under the framework of the SRIAATU.
He pointed out, China and Kazakhstan are permanent comprehensive strategic partners connected by mountains and rivers and sharing weal and woe, with a solid foundation and broad prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of education.
Chen expressed XAUAT’s willingness to take this visit as an opportunity to invite ALT University to join the SRIAATU, so as to carry out practical cooperation in disciplines such as architecture, civil engineering and transportation, and jointly train high-level talents who are proficient in both languages and have an international horizon.
Andrey Ivanov thanked XAUAT for its warm hospitality, and briefed the XAUAT participants on the history, majors, scale of faculty and students, international exchanges and Chinese language education in ALT University.
He said, ALT University attaches great importance to the cooperation with XAUAT, and hopes to take this visit as an opportunity to join the SRIAATU, in order to promote joint talent training and international cooperation in fields such as green building, intelligent construction and smart transportation, and build a platform featuring practical cooperation for teachers and students of the two universities.
