Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) held the Presidents’ Forum of the SRIAATU on the afternoon of May 15, with the participation of 16 heads of universities and companies from eight countries.
At the forum chaired by Chen Rong, Vice President of XAUAT, the participants put forward suggestions on further improving SRIAATU collaboration, innovating cooperation mechanisms, strengthening scientific and technological coordination, promoting the integration of industry and academia and jointly building a Silk Road community of architectural technology.
Zhu Xiaowei, Secretary of the CPC XAUAT Committee, delivered a keynote report titled “Strengthening International Exchanges and Cooperation to Build a Better Home for Mankind”. He said, conducting international exchanges and cooperation is the due mission of high-level universities, and is also an important engine for accelerating self-reform and development, improving the quality of talent training, promoting high-level scientific research and promoting mutual learning among civilizations.
In the face of the accelerating new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation as well as increasingly prominent global issues such as climate change, he said, it is more urgent than ever to strengthen international cooperation in higher education, deepen the integration of industry, academia, research and application, and find solutions for building a better living environment for mankind.
Zhu briefed the participants on XAUAT’s measures in international cooperation in four aspects: strengthening the top-level design of the “international +” transformation, initiating the SRIAATU, promoting high-level international collaboration in science and technology and launching educational cooperation in foreign universities. He also envisaged the future development of the SRIAATU.

Piyatrishin, Vice Rector of Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel of Belarus, Jasmin Suljagić, Vice Rector of University of Tuzla of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Olga Kuzina, Vice Rector of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering of Russia, Canyuan, Executive President of École Supérieure Libre d'Art de Paris, Said Shaumarov, Vice Rector of Tashkent State Transport University of Uzbekistan, and Arash Hejazi, Managing Director of IWA Publishing.
Chinese speakers included Zhang Dayu, President of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Yao Yao, President of Xi’an Technological University, Fan Feng, Vice President of Harbin Institute of Technology, Han Jianping, Vice President of Lanzhou University of Technology, Yan Bing, Vice President of Tianjin Chengjian University, and Ouyang Dong, Deputy General Manager of China Architecture Publishing & Media Co., Ltd.
The speakers shared the practice of their institutions in international exchanges and cooperation and looked forward to deepening cooperation under the SRIAATU framework to promote building a Silk Road community of architectural technology.
