Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) held a grand opening ceremony of the 2025 Conference of the SRIAATU at its Yanta Campus on the afternoon of May 14.
With the theme of “Co-building the Silk Road with Collaborative Innovation: A New Chapter in Green Architecture”, the conference aims to deepen cooperation in architectural technology among universities along the Belt and Road, and promote educational innovation and an integrated development of the industry, academia, research and application.

Zhu Xiaowei, Secretary of the CPC XAUAT Committee, delivered welcome remarks, in which he reviewed the development and achievements of the SRIAATU and highlighted directions of future cooperation.
The conference serves as an important platform for deepening exchanges and seeking common development, Zhu said, adding his hope that the member universities of the SRIAATU will achieve new progress at higher levels and in more fields, so as to provide strong intellectual support for the improvement of architectural technology and invigorate architectural technology in the new era.

Shen Xuefeng, Vice Director of the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, stressed the significance of the conference in facilitating the progress of human civilization through architectural technology and enhancing people’s livelihood along the Belt and Road.
He called on all parties to deepen joint training of talents and cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, help Shaanxi get deeply integrated into the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute wisdom to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Other speakers included Ainura Isirailova, Head of the Department of Higher, Secondary Vocational and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Said Shaumarov, Vice Rector of Tashkent State Transport University of Uzbekistan, and Ouyang Dong, Deputy General Manager of China Architecture Publishing & Media Co., Ltd. They expressed their expectations for the future development of the SRIAATU.

The XAUAT-OshTU International School of Architecture and XAUAT-OshTU Institute of Area Studies were inaugurated at the ceremony between XAUAT and Osh Technological University (OshTU).


The participants also witnessed the signing ceremony of the Silk Road Architecture and Technology Publishing Cluster as well as the signing and awarding ceremony for new member institutions.


XAUAT President Zhao Xiangmo handed over the flag of the SRIAATU rotating chair to OshTU Rector Tursunbaev Zhanbolot Zhanyshovich, which marks a new development stage of the SRIAATU.

Representatives of nearly 50 member universities from 17 countries attended the conference.
In the future, the SRIAATU will continue to promote exchanges and cooperation in joint training of talents, international scientific research and cultural interactions, so as to inject new impetus into the high-quality development of higher education in architectural technology along the Belt and Road.
