Vice-Rector of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) Vera Galishnikova visited Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) on December 12. Vice President of XAUAT Lei Peng met with her at the meeting hall of the administrative building.Heads of the XAUAT University Affairs Division, International Relations Office and Shaanxi Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Building attended the meeting. Director of the International Relations Office Wang Chunmei chaired the meeting.

Lei extended a warm welcome to Galishnikova and briefed her on XAUAT’s development, size of faculty and students, strengths in various disciplines, achievements in scientific research and international cooperation. He expressed a sincere gratitude to MGSU for its guidance and support in the early days of the XAUAT.He reviewed bilateral cooperation since the establishment of the SRIAATU in high-level mutual visits, joint teaching, exchanges between teachers and students and on the platform of Shaanxi Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Building. Noting that China and Russia are neighbors, friends and partners with a close amity for over a thousand years featuring win-win cooperation, he expected the two universities to deepen cooperation and continue their friendship in the future within the framework of the SRIAATU. Lei also hoped the two sides will make greater contributions to future innovation in architectural technology and training of talents in architectural technology along the Silk Road, so as to write a new chapter of China-Russia friendship and win-win cooperation.

Galishnikova thanked XAUAT for its hospitality and briefed Lei on MGSU’s development, disciplines, scientific research, industry-academia-research integration and international cooperation. Based on the previous cooperation and the platforms of the SRIAATU and Shaanxi Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Building, she said, the two universities should expand the joint training of talents, deepen collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research and application, and constantly promote an in-depth development of SRIAATU cooperation.

After the meeting, Galishnikova visited the State Key Laboratory of Green Building and held a discussion with representatives from Shaanxi Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Building.
