Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology successfully held a program of “Chinese Bridge” traditional architectural culture experience for a delegation of Swedish teachers and students from October 27 to November 4, 2024.The delegation was led by the leader of the HSK Test Center in Stockholm and Rector of Kinaskolan Ruiqing (Ruiqing Chinese School), with the participation of 15 teachers and students from the Center.The participants visited Shanghai, Suzhou and Xi’an successively during the program, gaining an in-depth understanding of the unique cultural charm of traditional Chinese architecture.

The event took the forms of cultural visits and academic lectures, covering a number of fields including the Chinese language, architectural culture, architectural history and Chinese calligraphy. The Swedish teachers and students have not only deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese architectural art in the classroom, but also felt the profoundness of the Chinese culture.They said, they will actively promote the Chinese language and culture in their future work and study, and contribute to the in-depth cooperation and exchanges between China and Sweden in fields of culture and education.

Funded by China’s Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the “Chinese Bridge” program holds exchange events for international students in China to be implemented by high-level Chinese universities, aiming to provide in-depth learning experience of the Chinese language and culture.Through summer camps in China, it helps the students deepen their understanding of the Chinese language and culture, promotes friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign students and activates their interest in learning Chinese.During the program, the campers will participate in two weeks of Chinese language teaching, cultural experience courses and a variety of exchange activities.
