President Zhao Xiangmo of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) led a delegation to Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) on the afternoon of September 16, and unveiled the Shaanxi Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Building with MGSU Rector Pavel Akimov.
Akimov gave a warm welcome to the delegation and highly appreciated the friendly relations between China and Russia.The green building industry has broad prospects and the cooperation between the two universities in related fields has a great outlook, he said, adding that the laboratory will lift their relations to a new high and bring new opportunities and possibilities for bilateral cooperation.
Zhao reviewed the exchanges between the two universities in the early days of the XAUAT, and applauded the laboratory as a landmark achievement in international scientific and technological cooperation between XAUAT and other SRIAATU members.He hoped the two sides would have in-depth cooperation through the laboratory in the future, and join hands to make greater contributions to the construction of a better living environment and the progress of human civilization.
After the ceremony, Dean Lei Zhendong of the XAUAT College of Architecture gave a detailed introduction to the history and current situation of his department. Head of the MGSU Department of Urban Planning Nina Danilina briefed the participants on the outcomes of the laboratory in their previous cooperation and plans for the future work.
Zhao and others also visited the MGSU Large Gradient Wind Tunnel complex. Heads and representatives from XAUAT President’s Office, College of Architecture and International Relations Office accompanied Zhao during the visit.
