The SRIAATU has established a regular communication mechanism for the coordinating group of the member universities to enhance mutual trust and promote information sharing. Seven members from six countries held the first meeting of the coordinating group on April 30 BJT.
Foreign participants included Vice Rector of Russia’s Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel Andrei Boika, Vice Director of the International Cooperation Department of Uzbekistan’s Samarkand State University Oblokulov Dilshod, Director of the Academics Directorate of Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology Adnan Maqsood, head of the Department of Architecture and Design of Pakistan’s COMSATS University Islamabad Kifayat Hussain, head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Malaysia’s Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Teh Hee Min, head of the School of Architecture of Greece’s Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Eleni Papadopoulou, and head of the Office of International Affairs of Indonesia’s Universitas Gadjah Mada Yani Rahmawati. Representatives from relevant offices and faculties of the member universities were also present.
Vice Director of XAUAT Department of International Exchange and Cooperation Wang Chunmei attended the meeting, highlighting the SRIAATU’s role as a multilateral platform facilitating information sharing and exploring cooperation potentials.
She said, since its establishment, the member universities have held 23 bilateral and multilateral events under their joint efforts, providing solid opportunities of exchange and cooperation for more than 100 teachers and students.
To ensure a high-quality development of the SRIAATU, an internal management system and mechanisms will be gradually established and optimized, so as to promote comprehensive strategic cooperation and practical exchanges among the member universities at bilateral and multilateral levels, Wang added.
Secretary of the SRIAATU Zhao Jingzhu briefed the participants on the work and events carried out since the establishment of the alliance, and gave a detailed introduction to the student summer camp, first meeting of Board of Directors and presidents’ forum to be held in the second half of the year, as well as the program of credited online courses.
Members of the coordinating group from various universities shared their thoughts. They spoke positively of the coordinating group’s role in strengthening exchanges and cooperation, and looked forward to the upcoming events. They expressed their willingness to do their best as group members in coordination and communication within the SRIAATU to ensure an effective flow of information on relevant events.
They vowed to join hands with universities under the SRIAATU framework to share high-quality resources in such fields as talent training and scientific research, improve the quality of education, and provide teachers and students with more diversified and superior educational resources and cooperation opportunities, in order to achieve win-win results.
