The opening ceremony of China-Russia Workshop on International Joint Design of Green Building, launched between Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) and Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU), was held on March 6 in Room 435, Main Building in XAUAT.
MGSU participants included Associate Professor Oleg Adamov, Associate Professor Nina Danilina and Senior Lecturer Irina Teplova from Department of Urban Planning. XAUAT participants included Ye Fei, Vice Dean of College of Architecture, Li Yueyan, a head of Shaanxi Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Building, and staff of College of Architecture and Office of International Affairs. Student representatives from the two universities were also present.
Shaanxi Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Building, a significant outcome of SRIAATU cooperation, has established educational cooperation with MGSU and several other SRIAATU members on the discipline of Architecture since it was listed as a provincial laboratory in December 2023.
Based on the joint teaching between the two universities, the workshop features both online and offline activities as well as exchange visits between their students. It will incorporate green and zero-carbon philosophy into the education of architecture design to help students pay more attention to environment and architecture-related issues. Educational collaboration will be achieved as a result of “the promotion of research through teaching”, interactive exchanges and practices.
Serving as a cooperative platform of the SRIAATU, the workshop has strengthened the practical exchanges between XAUAT and other SRIAATU members. It has also played a positive role in expanding the international horizons of XAUAT’s teachers and students, boosting its international cooperation, improving its global reputation, and deepening its educational reform.
