XAUAT News Network: The delegation from the University of Mostar (UM), led by Vice Rector Ivo Čolak, visited XAUAT on October 19, 2023. XAUAT's President Zhao Xiangmo welcomed the delegation in the conference room of the Administrative Building, where officials and representatives from the Office of International Affairs and the School of Civil Engineering of XAUAT were present. The meeting was hosted by Vice President Wang Yi.
President Zhao expressed a warm welcome to the delegation and appreciated UM's positive response to the proposal of the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities (SRIAATU). He expressed confidence in future practical cooperation based on the "Alliance". He noted that in recent years, the higher education cooperation between China and Bosnia-Herzegovina has been constantly innovating, expanding, and deepening. He highlighted XAUAT's achievements and the preparatory situation of SRIAATU, which holds great prospects for higher education cooperation between the two nations. President Zhao mentioned that the two universities signed a memorandum of cooperation a year ago. He believed that this meeting, along with UM's positive response to SRIAATU's inauguration ceremony and Silk Road International Conference on Architecture Science and Technology, would further strengthen the friendly exchanges between the two universities. He expressed the expectation for the two universities to collaborate and contribute to the development of architecture, science, and technology along the Silk Road, fostering friendship and making meaningful contributions to humanity.
Ivo Čolak expressed gratitude for XAUAT's hospitality, provided a brief overview of UM, and expressed eagerness to utilize SRIAATU as a solid platform for cooperation between the two universities. He emphasized the need to promote practical and multi-dimensional cooperation in the fields of inter-university talent cultivation, joint scientific research, and humanistic exchanges.
On the same day, the delegation continued the discussion with the School of Civil Engineering and visited XAUAT’s school history gallery.
