XAUAT News Network: the delegation from Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel (GSTU), led by Vice Rector Andrei A. Boika, visited XAUAT on October 19, 2023. XAUAT's President Zhao Xiangmo welcomed the delegation in the conference room of the Administrative Building. Officials and representatives from the Office of International Affairs and the School of Resources Engineering of XAUAT were also present. The meeting was hosted by Vice President Wang Yi.
President Zhao Xiangmo warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for GSTU's strong confidence in joining the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities (SRIAATU), as well as their commitment to future practical cooperation based on the "Alliance". He shared XAUAT's recent achievements and the progress of SRIAATU, highlighting the promising prospects for higher education cooperation between China and the Republic of Belarus. He emphasized the Republic of Belarus as one of the earliest countries to actively participate in China's "Belt and Road Initiative". He mentioned that the cooperation between the two countries in higher education has been deepening and expanding, aiming to establish a high-quality partnership. President Zhao Xiangmo expressed his expectation that this meeting and GSTU's participation in the "Alliance" would mark the beginning of a new chapter of friendship and cooperation. He emphasized their shared dedication to the development of architectural science and technology along the Silk Road and the importance of fostering the friendship between China and the Republic of Belarus. He concluded by expressing their joint commitment to contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of a better home for humanity.
Prof. Boika expressed gratitude for XAUAT's hospitality and highly appreciated XAUAT's proposal for SRIAATU. He briefly introduced GSTU's background and expressed his expectation for both universities to actively promote practical cooperation based on the "Alliance" in the future. He highlighted the importance of deepening multidimensional cooperation in areas such as inter-university personnel training, joint scientific research, and humanistic exchanges.
Following the meeting, the delegation continued their discussions with the School of Resources Engineering and visited its labs.
