XAUAT News Network: The delegation of Samarkand State University (SSU) led by Rector Khalmuradov Rustam Ibragimovich visited XAUAT on October 6, 2023. XAUAT’s President Xiangmo Zhao met the delegation at conference room of Administrative Building. Officials and representatives of Office of International Exchange & Cooperation and State Key Laboratory of Green Building of XAUAT were present, and the meeting was hosted by Vice President Yi Wang.

President Zhao cordially welcomed the delegation and sincerely appreciated for SSU’s determination and active response of jointly establishing School of International Education for students of Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities (SRIAATU). He introduced XAUAT’s major achievements university in recent years and current situation of preparing for SRIAATU, as well as reviewed previous mutual visits and cooperation between the two institutions. He pointed out that Uzbekistan is one of the important partners in “BRI” development, and the cooperation in higher education between the two countries is continuously consolidating and expanding. The successful convening of the China-Central Asia Summit has accelerated the cooperation in higher education between China and Uzbekistan. President Zhao emphasized that both should take the opportunity of establishing joint laboratory of green building to deepen the cooperation and maintain the friendship, in order to jointly inject new impetus into the new era of China-Uzbekistan cooperation in education, and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of a better home for all humankind.

Rector Ibragimovich highly praised XAUAT’s proposal and invitation for the SRIAATU. He briefly introduced SSU and expected that under the “Alliance” the two institutions could boost joint training for talents and international cooperation. It’s hoped that based on the establishment of joint laboratory, both should support the platform for practical collaboration of faculties and students between the two institutions.

On behalf of their respective institutions, President Zhao and Rector Ibragimovich signed MoU for establishing “Belt and Road” Joint Laboratory for Green Budling. Under the framework of the “Alliance”, and in light of mutual benefit, both have agreed to carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of green buildings, architectural heritage protection, etc.

After the meeting, the delegation continued their visit in State Key Laboratory of Green Building, and then visited XAUAT’s Caotang Campus.
