XAUAT News Network: On June 12, 2023 Associate Professor Dr. Chai Chang Saar of School of Architecture, Building & Design at Taylor’s University (Malaysia) and delegation of Glodon Company Ltd. (including Shui Fei, GM of Glodon Edu in Northwest China; Zheng Weifeng, Director of Department of Channel Management; and Yao Pei, Regional Manager of Northwest China) visited XAUAT’s School of Management (SOM). Associate Dean Li Lingyan and other administrators and faculty representatives attended the meeting.

Prof. Li warmly welcomed their visit and introduced SOM’s history, program offerings, and research. Department heads also detailed the origin, curriculum, and instruction of Engineering Management, Information Management, and Information Systems programs.

Dr. Chai Chang Saar introduced Taylor’s University, particularly shared curriculum design and research of project management, architectural technology, IT in construction, sustainable design, and engineering regulations and contracts in its Sustainable Digital Construction Management program. Shui Fei and Zheng Weifeng also showcased Glodon’s domestic and international product lines and case library that aim to serve programs of Engineering Management and Intelligent Construction, and they looked forward to establishing an industry university research cooperation platform with SOM.

Attendees then discussed topics in intelligent construction management, applications of IT in construction management, green construction management, and related student training and curriculum design. It’s hoped that both could seek opportunities in faculty and student exchange, research collaboration, academic conferences, and establishment of industry university research cooperation platforms.

This event has actively promoted XAUAT’s practical exchange with Taylor’s University (a member of the “Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities”) and deepened its cooperation with Glodon.
